My name is Paul Young, I am the Managing Director of Charles Phillips and Sons. I would like to welcome you to our new Rolling Auction website. For potential bidders who don’t know the company, here is a brief history. The business was founded almost 35 years ago by Phil Course (RAF Pilot) and Charlie Williams (Auctioneer)

Phil passed away a few years ago and is sadly missed by everyone, Charlie has reduced his activities in recent times but still performs PR duties for the company and has been busy spearheading new Art market opportunities

Since I joined the company as a trainee Auctioneer nearly 30 years ago the company performed mainly art Auctions but we have steadily grown this into other exciting sectors that are connected to the Arts and luxury goods markets. Over the last three decades we have built special relationships around the globe with quality Artisans across various sectors including art publishers, ornamental porcelain makers, hand made furniture companies, rug weavers, specialist jewellers and to this day we are still offered exclusive merchandise for Auction from new generations of these special relationships which were cemented all these years ago

During our extensive travels procuring, preparing and shipping of these specialist containers we started to build our own collection of exclusive merchandise and fantastic ‘one of a kind items’ these items were mainly for the decoration of our showrooms and to fulfil a demand for our interior design customers.

With the dramatic changes to business in the last year and to move forward with our new dynamic we now intend to clear our showrooms and container facility just south of Edinburgh and offer most of our inventory for clearance by online Auction, we will evolve our operation and concentrate on the development of our Art and Diamond markets.
